Some Random Thoughts
Reincarnation & Book Clubs
When I came across this particular post I originally just wanted to create a note to say “Why do all the truly beautiful souls die too soon?” and I would share include the post. I then thought, hopefully reincarnation is real so Andrea will be back with us in some way, some how to share her words of wisdom in the form of poetry again.
I have been reading and seeing all the wonderful posts by Andrea Gibson’s wife, Megan Falley and others to express their grief, love and appreciation. One of the posts that I saw included a video of Andrea say that one thing they wished is that they had been able to grow a mustache. It then got me to thinking about why people are identifying as Trans and Nonbinary. Why all throughout history there were people that fit into these groups even though we didn’t have the terms for them then.
Reincarnation makes sense. If at one point they were a man or a woman and then came back the opposite gender the next go around, there soul would get a bit disoriented. Some people even seem to really identify with certain animals. Reincarnation doesn’t necessarily mean we would come back as humans.
So I will admit that I have not done any research or reading regarding reincarnation. These are just my thoughts on the subject and I’d love to hear yours.
I do find it incredibly frustrating that so many of the lovelist people leave this world far too soon. I guess that is just what is meant to be. It just goes to show that we need to cherish every moment we have with the people that we love and choose to surround ourselves with.
I was taking life for granted not that long ago. It is something easy to do. I worry about unimportant things way too much.
All this has me thinking about the audiobook I am listening to for an upcoming book club discussion with my Spiritual Community. We will be talking about The Humans by Matt Haig. There are some interesting thoughts that I gleaned so far—
What happens in Heaven? What do you do there? After a while don’t you crave floors? Love, lust & misunderstandings and maybe even a little violence to liven things up? Doesn’t light need shade? Doesn’t it? Maybe it doesn’t…Maybe the point is to exist with an absense of pain…Yes, maybe that is the aim in life.
“Maybe we should try to not understand so much and accept some more.”
It takes time to understand humans because they don’t understand themselves. They’ve been wearing clothes for so long, metaphorical clothes…That was the price of human civilazation to create it they had to close the door on their true selves. So they are lost. That is why they invented art, books, music, films, plays, paintings, sculpture (and poetry, suprised it wasn’t mentioned since he quotes Emily Dickinson several times). They invented them as bridges back to themselves. Back to who they are. But however close they get, they are forever removed.
“We have technology to care for us now, we don’t need emotions.”
I am really enjoying this book and also enjoyed his book The Midnight Libray.
I am enjoying journaling about the books I am reading. I was inspired by women that were doing it in a different book club group that I participate in at a local independant book store. I decided to use my artistic abilities to replicate the book covers and then share my thoughts or quotes from the book. This also helps me to remember things I want to share when it is time for the discussion. Too many times my mind draws a blank or I can’t find the words to describe the part of the book that spoke to me.
My 1st journal entry. I didn’t feel like drawing the couple were with the dog, so I didn’t.

This is fucking awesome!! What a delightful, lucid expression of your own beautiful soul. Tears are streaming. :-)
